Abstract:[Objective] To reveal the interactive evolution patterns between urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency, and analyze the coupling coordination relationship between urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency in five cities in northern Jiangsu. [Methods] The coupling coordination model and spatial analysis method were employed to study the spatio-temporal characteristics of coordinated development and interactive coupling between urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency. [Results] ① In northern Jiangsu, urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency generally exhibit an upward trend, but with significant spatial distribution differences. Urban resilience displays a "high on both wings—low in the middle" pattern, while cultivated land utilization efficiency shows a "low in the west—high in the east" pattern; ②The coupling relationship between urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency in the northern Jiangsu region is closely intertwined, with an overall high level of coordination. Moreover, the coordination degree shows a continuous upward trend, enabling urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency to achieve a positive resonance spatially. [Conclusion] There is no inherent opposition or constraint between urban resilience and cultivated land utilization efficiency. The coordinated development of the two should be achieved through the virtuous cycle of resource elements, rigid constraints in spatial planning, collaborative innovation in institutional policies, and deep empowerment through technological governance.
