The specialties and conditions of engineering a new soil consolidator are introduced simply.The capability of the soil consolidator to control channel seepage is demonstrated by experimental information of the nature of compaction，compressive strength，water stabilization and freeze-thaw resistance.The conclusion reached is that in establishing freeze resistance，the soil consolidator is limited in controlling channel seepage.This study provides a reference for others engineering soil consolidators.
