Based on the analysis of research on forest protecting soil in home and abroad,combining with the characteristics of soil runoff in Hebei Province,the datas were calculated.The soil conservated is 62 661.5 thousand t/a,the decrease of deserting land is 9640.24hm²,preventing of mud and sand 15906.4 thousand m³,depositing mud and sand 11568.4thousand m³,the loss of soil organic matter 2713.2 thousand tons,the loss of N,P and K 1302.4 thousand tons.The total economic value is 3.815 billion Yuan,that means 1957.5Yuan /hm².
