The conventional road greenbelt pattern focused on landscape benefits and the roles against damage functions and actually neglected the shade stress to farmland.By the study of the shade stress to the plain farmland area in Beijing City,a formula for calculating the minimum road greenbelt width is found.Four improved greenbelt patterns are proposed,which are of practical significance to solve contradictions between road construction and agricultural production.
