This paper briefly reviews the issues of soil and water conservation monitoring of Chongqing Municipality in recent years, such as the construction of monitoring agencies and sites，regional development and construction projects，the construction of the monitoring capacity and so on. Some existed common problems that related with the location of soil and water conservation monitoring agency，distribution network，regional development, monitoring of construction projects and monitoring capacity-building were summarized，the way of improvement of monitoring works of Chongqing Municipality in the future were discussed.
