Abstract:
Study of soil moisture content and its dynamics on road slope is important to choose appropriate plant species for bio-engineering re-vegetation and improve slope stability. Soil moisture content and its dynamics on road embankment and cutting desert expressway. Results showed that soil moisture content on embankment and cutting slope had the typical seasonal dynamics.Soil moisture was higher during May and June, while it was lower during July and September and resumed gradually during October and December. Vertical distribution pattern ture content was the lowest in surface soil layer. Soil moisture content increased with increased soil depth and it was higher on road embankment than cutting slope.
