    Abstract:

The soil aggregates stability is one of the important factors to analyze soil structure. Soil aggregates were investigated in view of the f ractal fraction, the amount of > 0.25 mm aggregates and the aggregate weight dimension (MWD). Results showed that there was a negative correlation between the fractal fraction and the amount of > 0.25 mm aggregates. On the contrary there was a positive correlation between the MWD and the amount of < 0.25 mm aggregates. This indicates that the fractal fraction and the MWD can be used to appraise soil structure and the fractal fraction is better than the MWD because the fractal fraction is able to reflect soil water and other properties.
