1. Copyright: The editorial office would send authors a notification of APC payment along with a payment receipt and a template of Academic Integrity Commitment and Copyright Transfer Agreement as attachment files. Upon signing the Academic Integrity Commitment and Copyright Transfer Agreement, the authors agree to transfer the copyright of their article to the Editorial Office of Bulletin of Soil and Water Conservation, including but not limited to the rights of reproduction, distribution, information network dissemination, translation, compilation, and other rights related to the copyright of the article in various media and formats. The editorial office will be the copyright owner thereafter.

2. Open Access: Bulletin of Soil and Water Conservation flipped to an open access journal in 2022. All articles published since the 1^st issue of 2022, once published, shall be immediately and permanently available on this website for readers to read and download free of charge. The full contents of articles from the year of this journal's establishment (1981) to 2022 are also available on this website for free and open access under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. Permitted third-party reuse of the articles published by this journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the articles in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: Users must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Users may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Users may not use the article for commercial purposes. If users remix, transform, or build upon the article, they may not distribute the modified article. 3. Archiving: The full text of all published articles could be retrieved and downloaded from the official website of the journal. In addition, articles are also indexed in CNKI, Wanfang Data, Chaoxing, WeiPu, BoKan, and China Post Reading for digital reproduction, compilation, issue, and internet dissemination. All articles published in the journal since 1981 are digitally archived and can be searched and downloaded from the journal website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. Once there is a suspension of the journal's publication, archiving articles could be retrieved through third-party databases such as China Academic Journals Full-text Database of CNKI, Wanfang Data, and Weipu Data.

4. Advanced Publications: The journal is in collaboration with ChinaXiv, a preprint platform developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The journal allows authors to pre-publish their papers on ChinaXiv before submission. However, it is not recommended for authors to pre-publish their papers to other platforms before submission to avoid excessively high repetition rates which may lead to rejection in preliminary review.

5. Data Sharing: The authors are encouraged to publish or share their research data whenever appropriate. Data sharing is helpful for experiment repetition and data reuse. The data for sharing may include original data, observation records, experimental results, etc. The journal also encourages the sharing of software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods, and other useful materials. Authors may upload the materials mentioned-above to an accessible third-party repository and add a link at the end of the article.
